October 29, 2026News

As a follow-up to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between AI Singapore and Universitas Syiah Kuala, signed on January 26, 2026, by the leaders of the two institutions, AI Singapore and the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Research Center (DSAI-RC) at Universitas Syiah Kuala signed an Implementation Arrangement on October 27, 2026, to integrate the Aceh-X Dataset into Project ATLAS, a community-driven open platform by AI Singapore. The arrangement was signed by Dr. William Tjhi, Deputy Director of AI Products at AI Singapore, and Prof. Dr. Taufik Fuadi Abidin, S.Si., M.Tech., Head of DSAI-RC, during Dr. William’s visit to Universitas Syiah Kuala.

The activity to integrate the Aceh-X Dataset into Project ATLAS: A Community-Driven Open Platform by AI Singapore (https://www.atlas-data.ai/en) will include four main phases, starting with Dataset Preparation and Documentation. In this activity, the teams will curate, clean, and standardize the Aceh-X Dataset to meet Project ATLAS’s data format, metadata, and documentation requirements. The second activity is Data Governance and Licensing, which ensures the data are shared in compliance with applicable laws, ethical principles, and data owners’ rights, under agreed license and attribution terms. The third is Integration and Validation, in which the dataset will be integrated into Project ATLAS and checked for accessibility, consistency, and usability on the platform. Last but not least is Capacity Building, which will strengthen capacity to further enhance the Aceh-X Dataset by supporting visiting researchers in joint development at AI Singapore, when mutually agreed and subject to resource availability.

The implementation will run from October 27, 2026, to January 25, 2029.
